Welcome! This is a repository for information, documentation and chatter about our shared role-playing universe, not-so-creatively termed "The Known World."

The Known World entered existence in 1991. It has been intermittantly developed over the past 13 years. Several long campaigns, and several shorter games, have focused on the Cholaeic Order, a magical order derived in part from the Ars Magica system. The main region of play has been the 3 Kingdoms, which descend from the Kingdom of Tympania. The current game is set to the South of Tympania, in the Kingdom of Gaetan.

Anyone who is interested is welcome to join us, but due to the ever-escalating spam wars, we're sorry to say that if you want to leave a comment or post material to this site, you will have to register first. This process is fast, free and relatively painless, and we promise that we won't share your email address or other information with anyone.

Anyone who is currently playing in the Known World, or has played in the Known World in the past, is very welcome to join us, and will be given editorial powers so that they can add and edit material on the site. If you would like to have editorial powers (including the ability to add new material) or to keep a blog here, please register and then post a comment here. (If it is not obvious from your username, please mention who you are.)

We're open to inviting new people to help us build this world too, but we'd like to get to know you first. So if this world interests you (or if you just want to say hello), please come by the forums and introduce yourself! All registered users are able to initiate new forum topics.
