a46a

filius [A35a], of House Aegidius
trained by the Inceptum 358-360; apprenticed 360; mage in 375

Inceptum: 358-360
Lapidis: 360-

An Inceptum-found student, [A46a] was prepared for Cholaeic apprenticeship alongside Faex Acerbitatis and [C67b] from 358 to 360, and Gaelus and Aldonzo from 359 to 360. In 360, he was given to Lapidis, where his training was undertaken by [A35a], first filius of Sumner.

Although [A46a]'s orthodoxy and piety have never been directly called into question, his reputation within House Aegidius has been badly tarnished by the behavior of his two filii, particularly that of his first student Isidore, leader of the founders of Nonae Fidelitatis and the author of "A Letter of Gratitude," a scathing indictment of the Inceptum and its training practices. [A46a]’s second student [A83b], only a three-year apprentice at the time of Isidor’s death and the Nonae Fidelitatis Incident, was watched very carefully throughout his apprenticeship for signs of similar heretical leanings; when in 421, not long after his ascension to magehood, he fled Lapidis altogether, many saw it as proof positive of his suspect status.

The suspicion that some fundamental flaw in his own nature has been responsible for the dubious orthodoxy of his students weighs very heavily on [A46a]'s mind. He has turned to the younger Ecclesius, for whom he has great admiration, as his confessor, and he spends most of his days in silent meditation.
