This is just a short note on a much larger topic.
Magical pacts between apprentices cover a huge range. There are numerous examples of apprentices attuning their magic to each other, so they are able to operate in conjunction later in life in a way that most magi can't (the Savacions Gladius and Aglaspius are a recent example of this who we have met in play (they were at the trial of Tenellus at Isrillion, and Matt mentions them as people Calvus will invite to the war)). There are also numerous examples of apprentices entering into secret agreements to do something after the graduate. While it isn't explicitly clear, I think we can assume that these agreements are sealed with a binding magical pact. There are also plenty of examples of apprentices getting together to engage in dubious magical experimentation, often under the illicit guidance of a mage at their covenant. I imagine that, in most cases, all of these types of pacts are bound with a ritual magic which enforces silence on the pact participants. There are numerous examples of the ritual of silence being either self imposed or imposed by others in order history. Mages who Attempt to overcome a magical pact of silence seems to generally be driven mad.
