Calamus Mollis

("The Supple Reed")
filius Quartus Oriens, of Houses Derleth and Cristofer
apprenticed 377; declared mage in 392

A political mage from a long line of political magi, Calamus Mollis was a member of Bethelion's second graduating class from 377 to 392. Along with his far more flamboyant classmate Vyridas Loriatus, he took part in the hunt for the rogue Siccoculus from 388 to 390; he himself tends to describe his participation in this event as "three years spent in other people's way."

Upon his graduation to magehood in 392, he joined Annalum, where he has slowly but steadily risen to become one of the more powerful magi of the Order. He has trained one student to magehood -- Quentin, currently also at Annalum -- and is presently training his second.

Calamus Mollis is a member of the Cristoferean High Council and wields extraordinary influence for his relatively young age. Plenilunial in both outlook and lineage, he is a believer in a strongly activist and interventionist House Cristofer and harbors hopes for a second Tribunal and the Order-wide acceptance of a variant of Cristofer's Code within his lifetime. He himself prefers to work quiety towards these ends, but he has carefully groomed his first filius, Quentin, for a more active role in the House Cristofer he hopes to see emerge in the fifth century.
