Fumus et Specula: 380-385
Sphaera Musicae: 385-395
Quintus Opacus: 395-423
Fumus et Specula: 423-

Apprenticed at Fumus et Specula by musical specialist [L82], taken to the founding of Covenant Sphaera Musicae in 385. [L105]'s parens [L82] was a strong supporter of the home of his ancestors Quintus Opacus; he encouraged L105 both to specialize in the study of Dawnish ritual uses of music and to join Quintus Opacus once mage to aid them in their mission. L105 remained at Quintus Opacus for nearly thirty years, where penn's particular areas of expertise proved highly effective in their battle against the spread of the mystery cults.

From 404 to 406, [L105] travelled the Order abducting suspect apprentices and magi from their home covenants and bringing them back to Quintus Opacus for questioning regarding their involvement in a Dawnish conspiracy to infiltrate and subvert the Order. Penn's name was raised frequently in the wake of the surrender of 406, particularly by the Castrian Amicitians, whose apprentices were among those penn had abducted.

[L105]'s student [L146] was the first Opacan mage to inform the Order of plans to cross the River Lun since that restriction was first laid on members of the covenant as a part of the surrender agreement of 406. As [L146] had not even been an apprentice yet at the time of the Nonae Fidelitatis Incident, few saw any cause for alarm in penn's return to the covenant of penn's ancestors, Sphaera Musicae.

More than a few people in the Order, however, raised eyebrows when [L105] similarly declared an intention to join [L146] at Covenant Fumus et Specula in 423. The Castrians were particularly vehement that the apprentice- napper not be permitted to take up residence so close to their cottage covenants. [L105]'s cause was championed, however, by a number of influential members of House Cristofer, as well as by the magi of Sphaera Musicae and Fumus et Specula -- among them several descendants of Quintus Opacus's old enemy, Litan founder Illacrimabilis Dictus -- and seeing that they were outgunned, the Castrians eventually withdrew their objections.

Both [L146] and [L105] aided the Fumus magi in preparing for the 50th Manerean Conjugation of 424, and they seem to be on stellar terms with the new Primus Presumptive In Hunc Intuens, whose relationship with both his Litan relations back in the Dawn and with the ex-Opacans was one of the factors leading to his political rise within the House. Many within the Order are highly suspicious of [L105]'s intentions, however, and it is widely believed that the Primus Presumptive's apparent intimacy with the newcomers is less an expression of genuine trust than it is a practical application of the old "keep your enemies even closer" principle.
