("Extra Finger Sticking Out")
filius [L41b], of House Lem
apprenticed 345; mage 360
Lingua Sophiae: 345-370
Imber Rufus: 370-403
Amnis Aureus: 403-
During his apprenticeship at Lingua Sophiae, both Additus' parens and his elder sibling [L55b] were in the process of abandoning Linguanism for Circulanism: immediately after his graduation to magehood in 360, they both formally severed their connection to the Linguans by leaving Lingua Sophiae for Pilleus Gilvus. Additus himself, however, while he was quite dissatisfied with Linguanism and thought that the Circulans were indeed correct on many points, was not quite willing to embrace Circulanism entirely; he therefore remained behind. Several years later, he saw his concerns reflected in the work of his elder and similarly conflicted colleague Imber Ranae: he was her first disciple and one of the co-founders of her Imbrian School. In 370, he left Lingua Sophiae along with Imber Ranae and a third convert, [L76], to found Imber Rufus on the slopes of Pandrell.
In 386, when most of the elder Imbrians moved on to the new Imbrian covenant Amnis Aureus , he sent his student [L94] ahead with them, while he himself remained behind to guide the development of all of the recent converts to Imbrianism still at Imber Rufus. He retired to Amnis Aureus after the graduation of his second student, the Inceptum-found Fallax Faenilius, to magehood in 403.
When Fallax Faenilius was abducted by the Opacans in 405 and subsequently executed as a diabolist, Additus was outraged, and he led the Imbrian Lemmites in denouncing the Opacans and demanding the execution of all those involved in the abduction and execution of his filius. Although the Imbrians were in the end unsuccessful in convincing the Order to lay down a sentence of death upon the culprits, their vocal calls for justice were one of the major factors which led the Opacans and Inceptumites to accept the harsh conditions that were eventually settled upon in 406.
- [L94], from 370 to 385
