("The Somewhat Dry")
filius Secundarius, of House Manere
apprenticed 353; mage 368
Antrum 353-
A stable, reliable Antrum "lifer" from a long and unbroken line of Primi Manere--his parens Secundarius, grandparens Pedisequus and great-grandparens Praecanus had all served as Primus Manere before him--Aridulus was chosen as the perfect antidote to Irrumator's erratic reign. He was acclaimed Primus at the 38th Manere conjugation, held at Covenant Hart's Desire in the midst of the first Savacion rogue hunt in 388. In 397, however, he lost his bid for reacclamation to the more dynamic conservative candidate, Suppalpitor of Corbis Ovorum, who rode the conservative backlash against Plenilunial power to acclamation at the 41st Manere Conjugation held at Ad Vim Per Veritatem in 397.
Aridulus is a conservative moderate, deeply immersed in House politics, comfortable with the status quo, and extremely cautious when it comes to any form of drastic change within the Order. As the eldest mage of Covenant Antrum and its ranking Manerean, he wields considerable clout within both House and Order. In 424, he threw that clout wholeheartedly behind his first filius [M99]'s bid for the Primuship; although in the end he was not successful in installing his preferred candidate as the Primus Manere, he remains a force to be reckoned with in the world of Manerean politics.
