Server Issues

Hi, all. Sorry about the suspension. Our host developed some *issues* with us, and so now we're in the process of moving to a new home.

Weirdly enough, I see that during the week in which I was myself utterly unable to access this site, other people were able to get on--among them a spammer, who Kip seems to have taken care of. Thanks, Kip!

Anyway, although we've been reinstated for now, the server issues haven't really gone away for good. We're going to be moving hosts shortly, which means that there will likely be more disruptions in the near future. Sorry, all.

Oh well. I'm not looking forward to moving this thing, but maybe at the new place, I'll finally be able to solve that image magick problem...

Anyway, just wanted to let you know what's been going on.

Oh, and does anyone have the slightest idea why all of the taxonomy seems to have become duplicated?

taxonomy
I'm not seeing the taxonomy duplication. Have you alread y fixed it, or is it not visible to me?

What do you mean by the taxonomy duplication?

Server issues and changing servers
If you've already started transfering the drupal site, does that mean that any further posts before the new site has propogated will be lost?

I started making comments again, but then I realized that maybe I needed to hold off until we were on the new site.

I fixed it
By duplication, I mean that every single taxonomy term appeared twice ("I see everything twice!"). Twice in the sitemap, twice on the categories page, twice on...oh, you get the idea. When I went to administrate the taxonomy terms, they were all in there *twice.* Weirdly, "editing" them (without making any changes) and then submitting them over again seemed to fix the problem.

Strange, strange, strange.

Don't worry.
When it comes time to transfer the database, I'll shut it down over here first. That will mean some down time, but I figure it's better than having the data all screwy, or even worse, confusing MYSQL by trying to copy the database at the exact same time as it's been opened by a call from here, or anything like that.

Right now, I'm concentrating on getting all of the inactive and non-dynamic stuff moved over. It seemed a more relaxing way to begin.
