("Whatever It Takes")
filius Myops, of House Touccio
apprenticed 363; declared mage 378
Hall of Touccio: 363-378
Antrum: 378-
Quaquam was apprenticed by the Mille Lacusian Myops, a member of the so-called "Powerless Trio," during his stay at the Hall of Touccio in 363. Having failed to read the small print when he joined the covenant, Myops had not realized that he was contractually required to raise a student to magehood at the Hall of Touccio before he left; when he discovered this fact, he was not at all pleased, as he had previously vowed never to train an apprentice. Throughout his apprenticeship, Quaquam was uncomfortably conscious of the fact that his master considered his training an unpleasant duty, and it did not leave him with pleasant feelings about either his parens or his home covenant: he left the Hall of Touccio immediately upon his graduation to magehood in 378 and joined Covenant Antrum later that year.
An extremely talented mage with strong conservative and traditionalist leanings, Quaquam never really forgave his parens for making it so clear to him that he was unwanted. He declined to travel to Mille Lacus to attend Myops on his death bed in 409, although he was mindful enough of his filial duties to send his filius Tetanicus in his stead. He was, however, far more bemused than disapproving of Tetanicus' decision to remain at Mille Lacus, and he has remained on very good terms with both of his filii.
