The coast hills are a mix of low mountains and narrow valleys lying between the Wide Valley on the North, the Great Channel on the South, the Coast lands to the Dawn and East, and the Inland Channel to the Twilight and West.
Some of the mountains, and most of the valleys, are covered in dense forests of hazelnut and rhododendron.Other portions of the mountains are covered in heather moorland, particularly closer to the coast. The rivers of the valleys are numerous, small and fast. This region is generally lightly populated.
The coast hills contain a complex mixture of cultures, with the semi-nomadic hunters of the Wolf cult and the semi-nomadic shepherds wandering the highlands, and the valleys inhabited by a mix of Inlanders, Coast folk, and Wide Valley folk.
While the valley folk are not much different from their nearest neighbors outside the hills, the Wolf-cult hunters are unlike most other Gaetani. They have only a grudging respect for the main Gaetani gods, preferring to worship the wolf god, one of the four evil gods of the Gaetani.
