The coast region of Gaetan consists of the lands lying between the coastal hills and the ocean. The small valleys and low headlands of this region support numerous small and isolated communities. A lack of land based trade routes and poor ocean-going vessels prevent reliable or speedy communication between these communities and the central regions of Gaetan. The people of this region seem to prefer it that way and are generally suspicious and hostile toward foreigners. They put great stock in the various methods of detecting monsters disguised as travellers, and each village seems to have its own variants of the rules.
The preisthoods of this region tend to be lineage-based and to form only very small councils (of two or three villages). The main preisthoods are the lover, the fisher, the weaver and the pickler. Millers are few and far between, as the villages practice very little agriculture and have almost no ancient artifacts to maintain, and brewers are also uncommon. The villages tend to center around a weaving hall or a smoke house, instead of the usual brewer's tavern.
The only groups of coast Gaetan who do travel much are the sheep herders, who tend their herds on the coast moorland, but travel as far as the Inland Channel and the Wide Valley to trade wool.
