I write to inquire about the potential presence of our devoted friends within the walls of this our covenant.
So, before I start thinking of something else, I might as well throw out some Ilba/Perdix possibilities and see what flies with the established mythos. I am a leaf on the wind, watch me ramble. I'll start out with "premise nonsense", then "Perdix and Ilba nonsense", and then "larger scope nonsense", so skip at will by running "find" on those exact phrases.
Link to the files depicting Nil's vision, plus a text summary.
Nil will be gradually going to everybody he can find and asking them some or all of these questions. Everybody he approaches is explicitly made free to answer as much or as little as they care to. They are also assured that he will not keep a record of who has given which specific answers - "Ishta won't hear about this", etc. He does not appear to be carrying any record-keeping material with him, so the tone is entirely conversational.
Because every castle needs at least one graphomaniacal Lemmite prig.
Nil Admirari to Quartus Oriens, on urgent business.
I regret the duty of informing you that Mens has experienced a large misfortune, or at least has perpetuated one against his fellow mages, both of Nemus Animae and of his home covenant.
As vaguely theocratic apprentices go, Nishoba's not a bad kid. Mostly.
Because this should be discussed here instead of over e-mail.
What Monkey can do for you, to you, and with you, why, how, and whose thumb she herself lives under.
To my most honored father do these words humbly present themselves, in search of kindred heart and companion mind. All health to you.
I greet you from covenant Nemus Animae, whose quarters I have not found disagreeable.
I write now in turn to give you my requested impressions of the principle magi of this House.
Everybody's favorite Touccian warrior princess, the maga Illuminata Vitreus. Also known less formally as Ishta, or That Bitch.
A folktale in which Monkey meets Man and Woman at the river. From the Monkey crone oral tradition.
While it may have been the undoing of a legendary maga, it has proved the origin point for all advanced studies of intellego since. Cynthea raised intellego from a system of purely localized investigation into an independent discipline capable of "catching the dove in flight and the thought in mind."
Coming from Manu Tenere, bearing Laetitia's mark, and looking casually scrawled.
Tea too hot? Inland sea turning to blood? Look no further for solutions, the maga Iracundia has got your back.
A longish survey of Monkey social structure and magical properties. This is what Sonata will hear if Ilba gets her brother's bones from Calvus.
If anything seems terribly incompatible or awry, jump right in. There's nothing in here on the Monkey God himself, just sociology.
Temporary portrait of Nil Admirari.
The pigeon is going to be sleeping it off for days.
He's still probably a spy, but at least he's a well-spoken and conciliatory one.
